Lawrence Thomas Sullivan, 63, of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away at his rural Bollinger County home on Feb. 28, 2017. Born on July 27, 1953, in Piggott, Ark., he was the son of John L. and Zora Elkins Sullivan.
He married Constance G. Wooldridge in 2011. She was the love of his life. Each morning he was home from a trucking run, she was served coffee in bed. He would talk to her for hours while on a long-distance trip, and always ended each call with an "I love you."
Lawrence was an over-the-road truckdriver for more than 30 years. He was anticipating going back to PTI trucking in Sikeston, Mo. He was happy driving long distance routes, but he would tell the dispatcher, "if you send me to California, I am going home..."
For past-time fun Lawrence enjoyed fishing and dog hunting -- in his younger days. He raised Beagle dogs, but his buddy was Joe, a Boston Terrier.
He is survived by his wife, Constance; a brother, William Sullivan; and a sister, Jean. His parents and his dog, Joe, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at New Salem Baptist Church, near his home outside Marble Hill, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Randy Poole officiating. Hutchings Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
