She is survived by a son, David (Becky) Freeman of Jackson, Mo.; six daughters: Debbie (Byrd) Melancon of Sikeston, Mo., Cindy (Lonnie) Yount, Connie Killian, Christine (Rodney) DaVault and Mandy Freeman, all of Marble Hill, and Cathy (Bryan) Stroder of Leopold, Mo.; a brother, Michael Meyer of New York, NY; a sister, Ellie (Paul) Setser of Rock Island, Ill.; 16 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husbands, a sister, JoAnn Bash, predeceased her.

Visitation will be Monday, March 20, 2017, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the the Bollinger County Veterans Memorial Wall or Lutheran Family Services.">

Erma J (Meyer) Freeman

Erma J. Freeman, 78, of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away March 18, 2017, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Born on Nov. 11, 1938, in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the daughter of Roy A. and Alice P. Holland Meyer.

She first married the late Ronald A. Brown in Moline, Ill. Later she married Charles "Sonny" Freeman on Aug. 11, 1972. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2010. She and Sonny operated a restaurant in Marble Hill for many years. Her past interests included memberships in the Lioness Club and square dancing. She was a member of Glen Allen United Methodist Church.
