Charles William Tooman, 81, formerly of Cascade, Mo. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 12,2017, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born on April 12, 1936, in Lutesville, Mo., he was the son of Charlie and Beatrice James Tooman.
Charles had spent most of his life in Wayne County working as a logger. He was a good welder and mechanic keeping his equipment and that of others in working order. When he had time he liked to garden. In his younger years he loved to spend time squirrel hunting. For the past 17 years he had resided at Marian Cliff Manor in Saint Mary, Mo. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons Tom (Susan) Tooman of Lodi, Mo., and Lonnie (Lana) Tooman of Cascade; daughters Letha Tooman of Greenville and Retha (Dave) Condray of Shook; sisters Dovey (Roger) Loughary and Wilma (Jesse) Mills both of Patton; ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Beatrice Tooman; a daughter Rita Mae Minson; brothers Robert Tooman and John Cureton; and sisters Ethel Marie Skaggs and Irene Jordan.
There will be a graveside service Friday December 15th at 2 PM in the Grassy Cemetery. Hutchings Funeral Chapel of Marble Hill is assisting the family with arrangements.
