Mary Alpha (Mansker) Parson

Mary Alpha Mansker Golden Parson, 87, of Marble Hill died on January 3, 2018, at Woodland Hills in Marble Hill. Born on August 26, 1930, in Lutesville, Mo., she was the daughter of Lewis Imanuel and Edna Josephine Johnson Mansker.

She met Ruben Don Parson in 1965. They married and lived in St. Charles, Missouri, until retirement. For thirty years she worked for General Electric in the St. Louis Lamp plant. She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include a son, Douglas Golden, of Gravel Hill, a daughter, Vickie Golden Tompkins, of Piedmont, Missouri; six grandchildren, Evon (Allen) Baran, Kevin (Stephanie) Ayers, Nathaniel (Kelley) Golden, Elias (Selena Irwin) Golden, Robert (Alicia) Golden and Zachary (Nicole) Golden; and six great-grandchildren: Devon and Dylan Atkins, Uriyah, Sreya, and Annyse Ayers, Isabella Baran, and Elizabeth Golden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Don Parson, in 2013; a son, Dennis Golden, in 2014, and by six sisters: Bertie, Lena, Margaret, Edna, Louise and Rachel; and two brothers: Almon and Irvin Mansker.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Robert Tompkins will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
