Virgil Lee Kinder, 69, of Marble Hill, Mo., died on January 14, 2018, at his home. Born on January 16, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., he was the son of Willis Probst and Geneva Pauline Colbertson Kinder Probst.

He married Karen Kay Kelley on July 5, 2010. She survives. He retired after a career as track maintenance supervisor for the railroad. He served with the U.S. Navy as a C.B. during the Vietnam war.

He is survived by his wife; a son Jesse Kinder of DeSoto, Mo; three daughters: Theresa Kinder and Rebecca Rothweiler, both of Cape Girardeau and Jacqueline (Dustin) Koch of Jackson; two stepsons: Kevin Sullivan of Owensville, Mo., and Brett Sullivan of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers: Randy Propst of Cadet, Mo., and David Propst of Millersville, Mo; and eight grandchildren: Alyssa, Dominic, Micah, Elijah Koch; Autumn, Taylor, Jeremy Kinder and Hanna Bresnan. His parents, a brother, Ronnie Kinder, and a sister, Debbie Zimmerman, preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo., on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Hutchings Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
