Charles William Lemons

Charles William Lemons, 72, of Scopus, Mo., passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 16, 2018. Born in Gipsy, Mo., on February 23, 1946, he was the son of William H. and Ethel M. Porter Lemons. He graduated from Zalma High School and entered the Army, serving in Germany.

He married Joyce Ann Lincoln in 1992. She survives. For many years Charles worked at the Dexter Shoe Factory. He left factory work and worked on the Flying L Ranch doing every job that needed done.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Keith C. (Tina) Lemons; a daughter, Lisa M.Lemons (Chris) McNeely; five brothers: Truman Lemons, Ivan Lemons, Tom Lemons, Harold Lemons, and Terry Lemons; six sisters: Dorothy Carver, Linda Seiler, Ruth Heffner, Peggy Stepp; Barbara Masters and Shirley Chestnut; and four grandchildren: Kendal and Cassidy McNeely and Joshua and Brandon Lemons. His parents, a brother, Dean Lemons, and an infant sibling preceded him in death.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Hutchings Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Burial will follow with military honors at the Berrong Cemetery near Zalma, Mo.
