Patrick George Schreckenberg, 74, of Leopold, Mo., passed away on April 18, 2018, at his home. Born near Leopold, on March 17, 1944, he was the son of George Theodore and Marie Bertha Jansen Schreckenberg.
He married Fern Ellen Diamond on July 16, 1966, at Benton, Mo. She survives.
He retired from Florsheim Shoe, where he worked as a hand sewer. He was a life-long member of St. John Catholic Church at Leopold and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5898.
He is survived by his wife, two sons: Wayne (Lisa) Schreckenberg of Leopold and Terry (Kristine) Schreckenberg of Chaffee, Mo.; a daughter: Diane (David) Pobst of Oran, Mo.; five brothers: John (Helen) Schreckenberg of Cahokia, Ill., Garrett Schreckenberg of Collinsville, Ill., Vincent (Linda) Schreckenberg of O’Fallon, Mo., Tom Schreckenberg of Leopold, and Virgil (Carolyn) Schreckenberg of Whitewater, Mo.; two sisters: Alice Thorne and Rita (Jerry) Eftink of Painton, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Marvin Heise; five grandchildren: Drew Pobst, Blake and Trey Schreckenberg, and Shane and Aaron Hodges; and two great-grandchildren: Mason and Ronni Lynn Hodges.
His parents, a sister, Ann Heise, and a granddaughter, Kaylea Pobst, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Parish prayers will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Church in Leopold. Rev. David Coon will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
