John W Mungle

John Wayne Mungle was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Wasco, Calif., the son of Everett Jefferson and Ruby Leona Sanders Mungle. He passed away at his home in rural Bollinger County, Mo., surrounded by his loving family on April 24, 2018. He was 74 years, three months, and 22 days of age.

John was a graduate of Patton High School and joined the Army National Guard. He was part of a readiness force and was assigned to the 1140th Engineer Battlion in Perryville. He married Janet Kay Slinkard on Aug. 13, 1966.

They were the devoted parents of two daughters: Nancy and Pamela. John was a welder by profession.. He channeled this talent into water wells by starting and operating N & P Welding pump supplies and pipes. He and Janet worked the business from their rural home near Marquand, Mo.

He is survived by his wife of 51 1/2 years; his two daughters: Nancy (Rick) Strothmann of Marquand and Pamela (Shawn) Price of Jackson; his mother: Leona Mungle of Patton, Mo., four brothers: Larry (Linda) Mungle of Fredericktown, Mo, Mark (Vickie) Mungle of Jackson, Randy (Millie) Mungle of Sullivan, Mo., and Reggie (Tonya) Mungle of Marble Hill, Mo; three sisters: Karen (Allan) Mills of Lesterville, Mo., Joyce Crites of Jackson, and Katherine Burris of Eldon, Mo.; two sisters-in-law: Anna Mungle of Patton,Mo., and Rene Mungle of Sedgewickville, Mo; and four grandchildren: Catie Mungle, Hannah Strothmann, Ella and Emma Price. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers: Jerry and Kenneth Mungle; an infant sister, Dorothy, and his father and mother-in-law, Charles M & Katherine Slinkard.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 27, 2018, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with burial in Patton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children Fund, Patton Cemetery Association or Association for Suicide Prevention.
