She retired from working as an inspector at the Jackson Hosiery Mill.

She is survived by four sons: Timin "Tim" Johnston and Joseph Dann Johnston, both of Jackson, and Zachary "Shane" Johnston of Oak Ridge and Jeffery Johnston of Pochahontas, Mo; seven daughters: Theresa Robbins of Glen Allen, Mo., Romona "Eve" Beatty of Cape Girardeau, Deborah Joan Schaefer of Michigan, Felicia "Gail" Meyer of Jackson, Autumn Hughey of Altenburg, Mo., Dawn Urquidez of Campbell, Mo, and Myra "Beth" Johnston of Fredericktown, Mo; a brother, Paul Biri of Jackson, a sister, Joann Johnston of Jackson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Patrick Johnston

Dorothy Lee Johnston, 89, of Jackson, Mo., died on June 12, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Born on March 31, 1929, in Jackson she was the daughter of Francis Monroe and Mary Louise Duvall Biri. She married Homer "Everett" Johnston on Nov. 16, 1946. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 2003.
