Ricky Lee Welker was born in Peoria, Illinois, on October 11, 1955, the son of Jean Howard and Peggy Lou Ates Welker. He departed earthly life unexpectedly from his home near Marble Hill, Mo., on November 28, 2018. He was 63 years, one month, and 17 days of age.
Ricky moved to Bollinger County from Cape Girardeau County in 2010. He married Angela Fulton, and they were the parents of a daughter, Gracelynn Renee Welker.
Ricky will be remembered as a good father. He was a born again Christian who used every opportunity to witness his faith to those around him. He loved to fish, and especially catching catfish. Cutting wood was a chore he admitted to liking, but roofing paid the bills.
Ricky was a member of Little Valley Baptist Church near Marble Hill. He was active in the church ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; a daughter, Gracelynn; a step-son, Billy Minner; a brother, Randy (Rhonda) Welker of Jackson, Mo.; a nephew, Ryan Welker; a niece, Jeanna Lynn Welker; and many cousins. He is predeceased in death by a brother, Rodney Welker, and his parents.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at Little Valley Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Jim Null will officiate.
