George Willis Faulkner, 80, of Marble Hill passed away Sat., Dec. 19, 2009, at his home.
Born Sept. 29, 1929, at Morehouse, Mo., he was the son of Earnest and Minnie Cantrel Faulkner.
On April 5, 1950, he married Betty Rogers who survives. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 in Korea.
George worked as a machinist in the St. Louis area until 1972 when he moved to Marble Hill and opened a welding and machine shop. He attended Harmony Congregational Methodist Church near Marble Hill.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Douglas ( Andrea) Faulkner, two daughters, Rita (Rick) Becker and Diane (John) Scott, all of Marble Hill; three brothers: Sam Faulkner of Bloomfield, Mo., Gilbert Faulkner and John Vaughn, both of Dexter, Mo.; three sisters: Virginia Merideth of Elizabethtown, Ky., Geneva Nelson of Bloomfield, and Donna Faulkner of Bend, Or., and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 21, at Harmony Congregational Methodist Church near Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be on Tues, Dec. 22, at Harmony Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Lessley Ridge Cemetery near Marble Hill.
