Fred L. Thomas, 92, of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away at the El Nathan Home on Jan. 19, 2010. He was born on Nov. 14, 1917, at Zalma, Mo., the son of Daniel J. and Ida Mae Whitener Thomas. He married Myra Emigean Gray in Cape Girardeau on May 30, 1941. She died October 26, 2004. He had worked at Wisecarver's Store in Marble Hill for over 30 years. He retired after working at Hawn's IGA.

He was a member of the Marble Hill United Methodist Church and the Masonic Trowell Lodge in Marble Hill. Besides his wife he is preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. Many nieces and nephews survive.

Visitation is Wed, Jan. 20, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill from 5 to 8 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will beThursday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Marble Hill United Methodist Church.
