Janice Louise Proffer, 77, of Glen Allen, Mo., passed away Sat., Mar. 20, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born January 28, 1933, at Glen Allen, the daughter of Everette and Luella Long Cobb. She married Earl Proffer who preceded her in death.
She retired from working as an office clerk at East Missouri Action Agency. She was a member of Glen Allen United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children: a daughter, Terri Hill of Matthews, NC; two sons, Steve Proffer of Glen Allen and Randy Proffer of Scopus; a brother, Jack Cobb of Illinois; eleven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Rodger Rice officiating. Inurnment will follow at Proffer Cemetery near Crump.
