Inatha Geraldine Mansker of Cape Girardeau, Mo., was May 17, 1924, at Sank, Mo., the daughter of Ora Oswell and Alta Ines Ladd Bitterman. She departed eartly life at the Advance Nursing Center on May 10, 2010. She was 85 years, 11 months, and 23 days of age.
Inatha graduated from Zalma High School. On Sept. 12, 1946, she married Cecil Rosswell Mansker in Piggott, Ark. They made their home in Bollinger County until 1962, when Cecil began working for Missouri Utilities.
Inatha and Cecil were the parents of three sons: Ronnie (Mary) Mansker and Allen Mansker, both of Cape Girardeau, and Harold Mansker (Mary), who predeceased his parents. Inatha made a home for all these men. She loved to grow vegetables and flowers in her garden. Every Sunday was dinner at Grandma's for everyone. She was a good cook, especially with pies. Inatha also had a fantastic memory for history and past happenings. She enjoyed sharing these remembrances with her friends.
Along with her two sons, she is survived by a brother, Paul Bitterman, of Advance, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two very special, loving friends, whom she loved very dearly. One was Shirley Carlton, who was like a sister to her, and another was Carol Coomer, who devoted so much special care and love, and whose family was so special to share her.
In 2007 Cecil passed away. A grandson, David, also preceded her in death.
With her passing she requested,"please don't grieve for me. Just be prepared to meet me when you're called home."
Visitation was held on May 12, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the funeral home with Ethel Lou Myers officiating. Burial followed at Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
