Rachel Elizabeth Elfrink, 84, of Leopold, Mo., passed away Monday, June 28, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The daughter of John and Emma Wilkins Macke, she was born July 24, 1925, at Leopold.
She married James Elfrink at St. John Catholic Church on June 2, 1945. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2005. She had worked for the Fairway Dept. Store in Lutesville and for many years was an in-home childcare provider. She was a life-long member of St. John Catholic Church in Leopold
Survivors include a daughter, Emily Kelley of Leopold; four sons, Gerald Elfrink of Whitewater, Mo, Kevin Elfrink of Anchorage, Alaska, Kenny Elfrink of Jackson, Mo., and Randy Elfrink of Oak Ridge, one brother, Ben Macke of Toledo, Ohio; two sisters, Ruth Bax of Jefferson City, Mo., and Barbara Hillman of Surprise, Ariz.;10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. A memorial funeral mass will be on Friday, July 2, at St. John Catholic Church at Leopold. Rev. John Harth will officiate. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery.
